About Flying Dalmatian Studio
Mike Allen, co-owner
of Flying Dalmatian Studio, has a varied background in metalworking.
He has a degree in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University,
and taught metal working and welding at the high school level for
several years.
As a hobby, he
restores antique fire engines, and as a result, has had to manufacture
obsolete part to complete his restorations.

was the inspiration for Flying Dalmatian Studio |
He pours his own
aluminum casting, forges steel, welds, performs machine operations
on the metal lathe, and does his own powder coat paint processes.
These
skills, and a fondness for wildlife and art have culminated in the
creation of Flying Dalmatian Studio.
His
work has been featured on television and in the newspaper, and is
found in homes and gardens throughout the United States.
Mike
is a member of the Artist-Blacksmith's Association of North America,
and the Illinois Valley Blacksmith Association.
